Job summary

Mei Rigging & Crating Llc is seeking a Training Instructor in Salt Lake City, UT to deliver technical, skill-based instruction for newly hired MEI team members, apprentices, and incumbents. The role coordinates the MEI Apprenticeship Training Program and leads mentorship, field coaching, and OJT initiatives.

The Trainer will collaborate with management to build training concepts, identify development needs, and maintain compliant training records.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor in Education, Training, Human Resources, Industrial Education, or related field helpful.
• Five (5) years of experience as an intermediate level Rigger, Machinery Mover, Construction Rigger, or similar role.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations and CDL training programs and requirements.
• Experience delivering training programs and curriculums; ability to maintain current materials, topics, and records.
• Proficient with MS Office, including PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel, and Windows-based OS.
• Strong organization and planning skills; adaptable and customer-focused.
• Excellent oral and written communication; comfortable with in-person instruction.

Responsibilities

• Oversee apprenticeship training initiative and pair mentors with mentees; follow-up with on-the-job training activities.
• Manage training projects and regional office programs for effectiveness.
• Oversee skill development training for legacy and incumbent employees and evaluate entrants to training programs.
• Perform gap analyses and evaluate employee proficiencies to determine development paths.
• Produce training materials and presentations; deliver training to individuals or groups as needed.
• Maintain training records for each regional office and ensure audit readiness.
• Evaluate and report student progress and milestones against program effectiveness.
• Attend trade shows and continuing education to maintain SME affiliation.
• Interview new hires for fit and entry into training programs.
