Job summary

MEI Industrial Solutions is seeking a Training Instructor to design, prepare, and deliver technical instruction for new hires, apprenticeship participants, and incumbent staff in Salt Lake City, UT. You will coordinate the MEI Apprenticeship Training Program and lead mentoring, OJT, and training initiatives across regions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; higher degree helpful.
• Five years of experience in intermediate level rigging, machinery moving, construction rigging, or similar role.
• Experience with DOT regulations and CDL training programs is preferred.
• Experience delivering training programs and curriculums; ability to maintain materials, topics, and records for training.
• Proficient with MS Office (PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel) and Windows OS.
• Strong organizational and planning skills; customer-focused mindset.
• Ability to convey complex information clearly across all staff levels.
• Excellent oral and written communication; comfortable teaching groups.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the apprenticeship training initiative and pair mentors with mentees.
• Manage regional training projects and monitor program effectiveness.
• Oversee skill development training for legacy and incumbent employees; evaluate entry to training programs.
• Perform gap analyses to determine development paths.
• Produce and deliver training materials; oversee field occupations training and development.
• Maintain training records for regional offices, ensuring audit readiness.
• Evaluate student progress and compare to training program benchmarks.
• Attend trade shows and education opportunities to maintain SME affiliation.
• Interview new hires for training program eligibility.
