Job summary

MEI Industrial Solutions in Salt Lake City, UT seeks a Training Instructor to prepare and deliver technical, skill-based instruction for newly hired team members, apprenticeship participants, and incumbent employees. The instructor will coordinate the MEI Apprenticeship Training Program and oversee training initiatives, mentorship, and on-the-job training (OJT).

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s in Education/Training or related field helpful.
• Five years of experience in an intermediate level rigger, machinery mover, construction rigger, or similar role.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations and CDL training programs/requirements.
• Experience delivering training programs and curriculums; ability to maintain current materials and records.
• Proficiency with MS Office (PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel) on Windows.
• Strong organization, planning, adaptability, and customer-focused mindset.
• Excellent oral and written communication; comfortable delivering in-person instruction.
• Clear English language skills; accurate record keeping.

Responsibilities

• Oversee apprenticeship training initiative and mentor pairing; follow up with OJT activities.
• Oversee and manage regional training projects; monitor program effectiveness.
• Evaluate candidates for entry into training programs and drive development paths.
• Perform gap analyses to determine appropriate development paths.
• Produce and deliver training materials and presentations; oversee field training programs.
• Maintain training records for each regional office; ensure audit-ready documentation.
• Evaluate and report student progress and program effectiveness.
• Attend trade shows and continuing education to retain SME affiliation.
• Interview new hires for interest or necessary skills to enter programs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
