Job summary

MEI Industrial Solutions is seeking a Rigger Apprenticeship Trainee to join our Field Operations in Farmington, CT. This full-time apprentice program offers paid learning while you build core rigging skills in a fast-growing industry, with a structured development path and clear safety expectations.

Ideal candidates are English fluent, committed to completing all program tasks, and willing to travel for training as needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED completed.
• Must be fluent in English (written and spoken).
• Must be willing to complete all program assignments and assessments.
• Must be present in-person for six, bi-monthly, 3-day seminars beginning in July 2026.
• Must be able to travel to training, if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Participate in MEI's Rigger Apprenticeship Trainee Program to learn core rigging skills.
• Complete hands-on training, tasks, and assessments in lab or field environments.
• Maintain safety, integrity, and teamwork during the program.
• Attend required seminars and fulfill pre-work and post-training assignments.

  What is the Rigger Apprenticeship Trainee Program?

  MEI is tasked daily with moving heavy, expensive, and many times highly sensitive, equipment in construction and operating facility environments for customers both large and small. This type of industrial liability necessitates a dedication to safety, professionalism, and expertise at every level and at all times. The Rigging Apprenticeship Program has been developed by industry experts and is designed to teach the core rigging skills necessary for individuals without any knowledge of the machinery moving industry or without rigging skills to start a fulfilling career as a skilled Rigger with opportunities to advance and grow in the industry through targeted skills development and training oversight. Courses include hands on training, activities, and assessments, which may be conducted in a lab or field environments.

  Upon completing this multi-phase program, participants will have gained the proficiency in the knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSAs) necessary to perform in various Machinery Moving/Rigging positions.

  Skill Topics Included in the Program

  Physical Requirements & Working Conditions: Performing General Physical Activities -- Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials up to 50 pounds. Must be willing to work in an outdoor environment year-round.

  Other Requirements: Must be able to work in a highly functioning team environment. Display the highest levels of honesty, integrity, and professionalism. Take pride in your work and in the company. Communicate openly and strive for peak performance in daily tasks. Know and deliver the quality service MEI's customers have come to expect.

  All candidates must complete pre-employment contingencies upon accepting an offer with MEI that includes a 5-panel drug test and a Criminal Background Check.
