Responsibilities

• Provide support to Training and Services teams across industry-related skills and materials.
• Deliver in-person and online Training Facilitator.

• Coordinate employer visits and hands-on learning experiences.

• Attend partnership, services, and staff meetings as required.

About the Role:

As a Training Facilitator, you will join an exceptional team of trainers and work under MND’s Training Director to support the development, implementation, and presentation of our training curriculum. MND is seeking an engaging Training Facilitator with hands‑on knowledge of the building and construction trades to deliver workforce training that prepares participants for careers in the skilled trades. The ideal candidate combines strong instructional and facilitation skills with practical experience in construction, mechanical systems, or a related trade. This individual will help participants build confidence while introducing industry terminology, tools, safety practices, basic construction math, blueprint reading, measurements, and employer expectations. While MND provides training on our curriculum, candidates should possess foundational knowledge of the building and construction trades and be comfortable discussing industry practices, tools, safety, and career pathways with participants, and bring relevant industry experience and the ability to connect real‑world jobsite applications to classroom instruction.

Duties and Responsibilities

• -Provide support to the Training and Services teams in all necessary areas, including industry‑related skills and knowledge in all forms (written, online, and video)
• -Serve as Training Facilitator in‑person and online
• -Facilitate building trades pre‑apprenticeship curriculum using real‑world construction examples and industry best practices.
• -Demonstrate the safe use, identification, and purpose of common construction hand and power tools.
• -Introduce participants to construction terminology, blueprint reading, measurements, basic construction math, material identification, and jobsite safety.
• -Lead hands‑on classroom activities and skills labs that reinforce construction concepts.
• -Coordinate and supervise participant activities during employer visits, union training center tours, and hands‑on learning experiences.
• -Maintain training equipment, tools, and instructional materials to ensure a safe and organized learning environment.
• -Foster relationships with employers, apprenticeship programs, unions, and industry partners to ensure training remains aligned with current workforce needs.
• -Perform regional and national industry research to assist the organization in identifying future growth industry sectors for training opportunities for clients
• -Manage industry‑related materials and data to best support curriculum development
• -Engage clients and other business community stakeholders to participate in training
• -Conduct surveys and assessments to support the Training Director
• -Collaborate with staff to brainstorm additional industry options and opportunities
• -Assist with all technology aspects, including, but not limited to, YouTube, Kahoot, Survey Monkey, Zoom, Email, Office 365, Canva, Microsoft, and Google platforms
• -Attend all partnership, services, and staff meetings as required
• -Other duties as assigned

• -Training Completion – deliver engaging, learner‑centered training that successfully prepares participants for employment and industry‑recognized credentials
• -Participant Satisfaction – foster a positive, supportive, safe, and inclusive classroom environment, conducive to learning and professional career development, resulting in positive client outcomes and feedback surveys
• -Attendance & Engagement – drive and track client punctuality, attendance and class participation, and maintain accurate participant attendance records, completing all required documentation in a timely manner
• -Relationship Building – steward existing and grow new employer/union partnerships; coordinate on‑site guest presentations and visits to employer partner training sites to connect participants to jobs
• -Collaboration – work collaboratively with the training team and job coaches/case managers to ensure a positive learning experience for every client
• -Flexibility & Adaptability – demonstrate a continuous improvement mentality, adapting instruction to meet a participant’s learning needs, and also providing feedback on curriculum, classroom processes, and participant outcomes

Qualifications & Skills Required

• -Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Education, Construction Management, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of industry experience and professional training. A minimum of three years of experience in construction, skilled trades, manufacturing, Facilities or building maintenance, mechanical systems, apprenticeship or union training programs, vocational/technical education, workforce development, or community‑based adult education. Demonstrated expertise in skilled trades including carpentry, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, masonry, welding, heavy equipment, and general construction practices with experience teaching, coaching, mentoring, and delivering hands‑on training to adult and young adult learners. Knowledge of construction safety practices and industry standards is highly valued.
• -Communication Mastery: Delivers engaging presentations and facilitates interactive classroom instruction by clearly communicating technical concepts, construction terminology, blueprint reading, construction math, and jobsite safety to learners of all experience levels. Demonstrates exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills while fostering an inclusive learning environment and effectively managing classroom engagement to promote collaboration and learner success.
