GAS GLOBAL SERVICES in Overland Park, KS, is seeking a Construction Craft Trainer – Equipment to deliver advanced training in heavy equipment operations, develop curriculum, and support apprenticeship programs. The role requires 6+ years of craft experience, NCCER instructor certification (or ability to obtain), and LMS/digital training experience.

Travel up to 70% (Mon-Fri with weekends at home) and the ability to work remotely one week per month are required.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 6 years of relevant construction craft or heavy equipment experience.
  • Experience operating or working with excavators, dozers, utility tractors, loaders, and/or motor graders.
  • Experience in open shop and/or union environments.
  • More than 3 years of teaching experience in a vocational or technical construction craft program.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain NCCER Construction Craft Instructor Certification.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Experience using Learning Management Systems (LMS).
  • Experience creating and delivering digital training materials.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Teams, Zoom, WebEx, or similar virtual training platforms.
  • Background in operating or maintaining excavators, dozers, utility tractors, loaders, and/or motor graders required
  • Knowledge of NCCER is a plus
  • Ability to work remotely one week per month
  • Proximity to a major airport is preferred
  • Bilingual skills preferred

This role is responsible for developing curriculum, evaluating student performance, mentoring instructors, and supporting apprenticeship program operations while ensuring compliance with training, accreditation, and regulatory requirements.

Education/Training/Certifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field (additional industry experience may be considered instead of a degree)
  • NCCER Construction Craft Instructor Certification preferred or the ability to obtain and maintain certification
Additional Requirements
  • Must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements, which may include a criminal/civil background check, drug screening, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with applicable laws and regulations
  • Willingness to travel 70% or more (Monday–Friday), with weekends at home
