Job summary

The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission - MC Planning is seeking an undergraduate or graduate intern for Training and Development. The role focuses on learning and development, employee engagement, leadership development, and training administration, working closely with the Human Resources team.

You will develop calendars, support LMS, coordinate logistics, create communications, and help enhance training programs and ERG initiatives.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in college with a 2.5 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) for undergrad or grad studies.
• Experience with Microsoft Office suite and Canva is preferred.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills; ability to manage multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Assist with development and maintenance of the fiscal year training calendar.
• Support LMS administration: create training events, maintain records, assist users.
• Coordinate pre- and post-training logistics with staff, vendors, and participants.
• Develop and update training communications, including flyers and marketing materials.
• Coordinate cost-effective training opportunities through partnerships with internal units and external vendors.
• Research best practices to improve training participation and learner accountability.
• Track training data (attendance, surveys) to identify trends and suggest improvements.
• Assist with mentoring programs and ERG rollout in collaboration with HR.
• Support Emerging Leaders program administration and heritage month budgeting.
• Create and manage content for the Department's training webpage.
