Job summary

Wisconsin Aluminum Foundry Co. in Manitowoc, WI is seeking a curious Human Resources Intern focused on Training & Development. You’ll build a practical, skills-based training system for production, shadow floor work, and present recommendations to leadership.

This hands-on summer project blends HR, safety, and workforce development to deliver lasting improvements. You’ll gain exposure to talent acquisition, safety compliance, and employee development while contributing to real process

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Learning & Development, Business, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, or a related field.
• Experience with Excel or a willingness to develop quickly.
• Curiosity, initiative, and willingness to learn in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Walk the manufacturing floor to observe work and talk with operators, trainers, and supervisors.
• Develop a skills-based training system linking job requirements to employee development.
• Create a tracking tool to monitor training progress and qualifications.
• Identify skill gaps and opportunities to strengthen workforce coverage.
• Present project findings and recommendations to HR and Operations leadership.
