Job summary

Wisconsin Aluminum Foundry Co Inc in Manitowoc, WI is offering a paid Mechatronics / Automation Engineering Intern position for a 12-14 week program May–August 2027. You will work with robots, PLCs, HMIs, and vision systems on real foundry equipment, gaining practical experience beyond the classroom.

Qualifications

• Pursuing an engineering-related degree with interest in automation and robotics.
• Strong curiosity about how machines and controls operate on the shop floor.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to hands-on challenges on the plant floor.

Responsibilities

• Assist with robots and cobots programming on FANUC systems.
• Support PLC and HMI projects, including wiring diagrams and cabinet work.
• Read wiring diagrams and troubleshoot real control cabinets on the floor.
