Job summary

Wisconsin Aluminum Foundry in Manitowoc, WI is seeking a Human Resources Intern focused on Training & Development for Summer 2027. The internship runs Monday–Friday, with a day shift, and involves building a practical, skills-based training system for our production workforce.

You will collaborate with employees, supervisors, HR, and Safety to design, implement, and present a framework that helps people learn, qualify, and grow, leaving behind a tool that teams can continue using after summer

Qualifications

Pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Learning & Development, Business, or related field.
Genuine interest in how people learn, develop skills, and grow into new opportunities.
Experience with Excel or eagerness to build Excel skills quickly.

Responsibilities

Take ownership of a signature Training & Development project to build a practical, skills-based training system for production staff.
Shadow employees on the floor and talk with operators, trainers, and supervisors to map current learning methods.
Identify essential skills, safety practices, equipment knowledge, and quality standards for each role.
Define foundational skills and knowledge for new hires and create qualification milestones.
Develop a tracking tool to monitor training progress and employee qualifications and present recommendations to HR and Operations leadership.
