Job summary

Health & Human Services Commission (HHSC) is hiring a Training Specialist at San Antonio State Hospital to develop and deliver mandatory staff training and to maintain the hospital curriculum. This role supports pre-service, refresher, and on‑the‑job training across departments.

The Training Specialist will track compliance, coordinate with the FCTD, and ensure survey readiness while using PeopleSoft TIMS and MS Office tools daily.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required or two years teaching experience may substitute.
• Experience teaching in adult education is preferred.
• Knowledge of hospital operations and training standards is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Attends and delivers core and local trainings for hospital staff.
• Maintains and updates hospital curriculum; ensures survey readiness.
• Tracks training records and ensures 95% hospital compliance.
• Teaches CPR, TIPS and related training; supports local course development.
• Maintains training rosters in PeopleSoft TIMS and generates reports.
