Job summary

The GEO Group in the United States seeks a Training Coordinator to deliver training and technical assistance to STOP Placement Office staff and CBP partners in the contracted area. The role supports ongoing in-service trainings, develops modules, and coordinates with CDCR to ensure effective program delivery across the network of providers.

Required qualifications include an associate or bachelor degree in Criminal Justice or related field, 1 year training experience, 2 years in evidence-based

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Criminal Justice, Education or related field required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• One year of training experience is preferred.
• Two years of evidence-based program experience preferred.
• Knowledge of evidence-based programming, Motivational Interviewing, Core Correctional Practices, ARMS database and experience training large groups is preferred.
• Active, valid driver’s license required.
• Ability to understand models including cognitive behavioral therapy, addiction theories and related risk factors.
• Extensive knowledge of transition between in-custody and community-based modalities.
• Excellent English spelling and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and facilitates bi-annual trainings with CDCR for Placement Office staff and CBPs.
• Identifies training needs and collaborates with Compliance Coordinator for additional training.
• Identifies and conducts any additional required training sessions.
• Monitors individual onsite training plans.
• Develops additional training modules as needs are identified.
• Develops strategies with community criminal justice agencies to better serve the target population.
• Provides trainings for STOP Placement Office and CBP staff to increase accountability and professionalism.
• Develops and updates outreach presentations with STOP providers to ensure message consistency.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
