Job summary

Robinson, Inc. is seeking a Training Coordinator to ensure our electrical personnel are prepared to work safely and efficiently. You will join the Robinson Training Academy to develop curriculum and teach new hires while supporting in-service training and ongoing education.

You will collaborate with management to equip and maintain the training facility, deliver hands-on instruction on electrical tasks, and mentor employees on shopfloor practices and safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1–2 years supervisory experience preferred.
• 3–7 years electrical experience in a production environment or equivalent.
• Proficient knowledge of ShopTrak and Microsoft Office.
• Ability to communicate effectively in conversation, email and writing.
• Ability to train and lead others.

Responsibilities

• Develop the curriculum for the Robinson Training Academy (RTA).
• Develop the curriculum for the Robinson Training Academy (RTA).
• Develop written lesson plans for instruction in the RTA.
• Deliver instruction to new employees in the RTA on electrical tasks.
• Coach and mentor new employees in the RTA and on the production floor.
• Document training and progress of new employees while they are in the RTA.
• Develop the curriculum and lesson plans for company in-service training.
• Provide initial quality training for new employees.
• Help communicate safety practices to new electrical employees.
• Introduce new electrical employees to ShopTrak and provide an overview of how to use it.
• Order electrical supplies required for training.
• Go over new electrical employees’ tools and make sure that new employees have what Robinson requires to be productive.
• Verify tools are correct, in working order and complete.
• Work with managers, electrical coordinators and electrical mentors to help with the transition of new electricians to the shop floor.
• Work with all the youth apprentices that are interested in an electrical career.
• Attend job fairs related to hiring electrical employees and youth apprentices.
• Work with the Training & Development Manager to forecast budgets for RTA / Inservice training
• Research new and best practices in the electrical process
• Research new and best practices in training, coaching and mentoring
• Adhere to safe training, manufacturing, and material handling practices to maintain a secure work / training environment
• Demonstrate teamwork by collaborating effectively with colleagues, helping, and responding positively to feedback.
• Fulfill additional job duties assigned by the company, remaining flexible and adaptable to changing needs.

As a Training Coordinator at Robinson, you will work with our team to ensure that all electrical personnel are ready to perform the functions of their job safely and efficiently. You will work with a team to develop the curriculum and teach new employees at the Robinson Training Academy. You will also develop the curriculum and teach employees during in-service and other specialized training. In addition to training employees, you will work with a team to equip and maintain the Robinson Training Academy facility. The ideal candidate will demonstrate expertise in electrical services, training, mentorship, and a commitment to safety.
