Job Summary

The Training Coordinator is to be responsible for leading the plant’s training program, analyzing training needs, developing curriculum, creating training documents, and delivering courses.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Operations
  • Lead the plant Training program by mapping out and maintaining training plans and training schedules for hourly plant employees.
  • Design and develop training programs for apprenticeship programs, on-the-job training, professional development classes, and more.
  • Manage and evaluate Production Trainers to ensure effective execution of training processes and delivery.
  • Collaborate with plant leaders and HR to identify training needs and create development plans for teams and individuals.
  • Conduct training needs assessment and identify skills or knowledge gaps that need to be addressed.
  • Design, prepare, and order educational aids and materials.
  • Assess instructional effectiveness and determine the impact of training on employee skills and KPIs.
  • Design and apply assessment tools to measure training effectiveness.
  • Gather feedback from Production Trainers and trainees after each educational session.
  • Partner with Training Coordinators from other sites to ensure instructional design and training processes are standardized using best practices across the organization and industry.
  • Maintain an updated curriculum database, training matrix, and training records for the plant.
  • Host train-the-trainer sessions for internal subject matter experts.
  • Continually evaluate training progress and procedures to monitor and analyze course effectiveness and update curriculum as needed.

Safety
  • Comply with the EHS Policy and applicable regulatory and company EHS rules and requirements.
  • Promptly report any unsafe conditions, practices, or environmental concerns to supervision and resolve potential hazards swiftly to ensure a safe work environment for all employees.
  • Attend scheduled EHS trainings.
  • Actively assist the organization in achieving or surpassing EHS goals, identify areas for improvement in EHS practices, and recommend enhancements to contribute to our commitment to a safe work environment.
  • Demonstrate safe work habits by adhering to general safety procedures, including correct techniques for lifting and bending, maintaining proper ergonomics, using equipment correctly, and wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Ensure that all fall protection procedures are strictly adhered to, including but not limited to the use of harness, platform ladders, railing, and lifts.
  • Ensure strict adherence to all safety procedures, including the enforcement and discipline related to Lockout/Tagout (LO/TO) procedures.
Product Safety and Quality
  • Follow Product Safety and Quality standards.
  • Follow GMP’s regarding food contact packaging as it pertains to the employee.
  • Follow IPC product defense standards and comply with all Safe Quality Food (SQF) requirements.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
  • A combination of professional development and related experience. Preferred: Bachelor’s degree.
  • 5+ years in a training role in a manufacturing environment, preferred.
  • 5+ years in a Leadership or influencing role.
  • Skilled in creating training materials using various platforms, e.g., Digital Media, Interactive PowerPoint presentations, MS Office tools, etc.
  • Experienced delivering training content through various means.
  • Certification or experience with Continuous Improvement methodologies, such as Lean or Six Sigma, preferred.
  • Experience working in a regulated industry preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools.
  • Must be able to communicate on a one-on-one basis or in group situations, understand instructions, and follow SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures), and effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
