Owens Corning Foundation in Kearny, NJ seeks a dedicated trainer to support hourly operators. The successful candidate will lead training initiatives for new hires and help develop current employees through effective coaching and training methodologies.
This role promotes safety within the facility and collaborates with management to enhance training programs, ensuring operational effectiveness. A commitment to adult learning principles is essential for success, as is the ability to adapt to a dynamic manufacturing environment.
Functions as the primary dedicated trainer for all hourly operators in the facility focusing on training for new hires and upskilling existing employees.
Strong safety presence, on and off the line
Skilled in training facilitation and committed to developing adult learning methodology. Will become certified through the Roofing Train the Trainer program
Ability to work well with others with diverse backgrounds and at various organizational levels
Team player with strong verbal and written communication skills
Understanding of TPM theory
Basic mathematical skills
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
Flexibility to work nights, weekends and off-shifts as needed
Proficient in MS Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint
Timely and professional email communication
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Training and development experience in a manufacturing setting preferred.
Ability to routinely lift up to 40 lbs without assistance
Ability to routinely lift up to 80 lbs with assistance
Work for 12 hours in an extreme hot/cold manufacturing environment
Walk/stand continuously for up to 12 hours
Willingness to travel 10% of the time
Ability to safely bend, twist, and squat
Routinely ascend and descend stairs and ladders as work area requires
Adapt to rotating shift work
Pass pre‑employment drug screening, background check, and health screening
