Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:30am-4:30pm

Position Summary
The Training Coordinator is responsible for planning, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating training and professional development programs that support employee growth, organizational effectiveness, and compliance requirements. This role works collaboratively with leadership and staff to identify training needs, facilitate learning opportunities, manage onboarding programs, and maintain training records.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, passionate about employee development, and experienced in coordinating training initiatives in a mission-driven environment.
Training Program Management
- Coordinate all employee training and professional development activities.
- Schedule and organize workshops, webinars, and in-person learning sessions.
- Develop annual training calendars and learning plans.
- Assist in creating and updating training materials, presentations, and job aids.
- Evaluate training effectiveness through surveys, assessments, and feedback.
New Employee Onboarding
- Coordinate onboarding programs for new hires.
- Facilitate orientation sessions and ensure completion of required onboarding activities.
- Partner with managers to support successful employee integration and engagement.
Compliance and Regulatory Training
- Track mandatory training requirements and certifications.
- Provide monthly training reports for employees coming due in 30, 60, 90 days, or expired.
- Maintain accurate training records and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies and applicable regulations.
- Generate training reports for leadership and audit purposes.
Learning Management System (LMS) Administration
- Manage training registrations, attendance records, and course completion tracking.
- Maintain and update online learning platforms and training databases.
- Produce reports and metrics related to employee learning and development.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Partner with department leaders to identify training needs and skill gaps.
- Coordinate external trainers, consultants, and vendors.
- Promote a culture of continuous learning and professional development throughout the organization.
Program Evaluation and Continuous Improvement
- Collect and analyze training data and participant feedback.
- Recommend improvements to training programs and delivery methods.
- Research emerging learning trends and best practices.
Qualifications
Education
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Education, Organizational Development, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Experience
- 2-5 years of experience coordinating training, learning and development, workforce development, or human resources programs.
- Experience working in a nonprofit, healthcare, educational, or community-based organization preferred.
- Experience working with nonprofit organizations that served individuals through the Connecticut Department of Developmental Services (DDS.)
- Experience using Learning Management Systems (LMS) is highly preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to facilitate training sessions and presentations.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Teams, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
- Knowledge of adult learning principles and training methodologies.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.

- Professional certifications such as:
- SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP
- PHR
- ATD Talent Development Certifications
- PMT Instructor
- DDS Abuse & Neglect Instructor
- DDS Safe Swallowing Instructor
- CPR/1 st Aid Instructor
- Mental Health 1 st Aid Instructor
- If not certified, must have ability to become certified in the identified trainings above, or trainings identified as part of the training improvement process.
- Experience supporting remote or hybrid workforce training programs.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit, stand, and use a computer for extended periods.
- Lift and carry 50-70lbs.
- Occasional travel to training locations and organizational events.
- Ability to facilitate training sessions both virtually and in person.
