  • Standardize training methods across shifts and departments to reduce variance.
  • Support corrective actions with retraining after audits or CAPAs or safety incidents.
  • Maintain audit-ready training records for quality and safety audits.
  • Oversee onboarding and orientation for new hires and transfers.
  • Schedule training sessions, reserve rooms, and coordinate shift coverage.
  • Maintain LMS or training database and log completions, certifications, and refresher dates.

Position Overview

The Training Coordinator is responsible for designing, coordinating, and maintaining operational, safety, and quality training programs. This role bridges the gap between Operations, Quality, EHS (Environmental Health & Safety), and HR to ensure employees are properly onboarded, continuously trained, and qualified according to standardized work instructions and regulatory standards.

Primary Responsibilities
1. Qualification & Standard Work Documentation
  • SWI & SOPIntegration: Update and maintain employee qualification matrices and standard work instructions (SWIs/SOPs) in partnership with Operations and Quality teams.
  • Document Control: Ensure all training materials, task qualification checklists, and standard work documents are up to date, accurately version-controlled, and accessible on the floor.
  • Competency Tracking: Define and track skilltiers/levels (e.g., Trainee, Qualified, Trainer) for production and operational roles.
2. Operations & Cross-Departmental Collaboration
  • Training Needs Analysis: Partner with Operations, Quality, Safety leads to identify skill gaps, process changes, and upcoming training requirements.
  • Material Development: Help subject matter experts (SMEs) convert operational knowledge into structured, easy-to-understand training modules, visual job aids, and evaluation checklists.
  • Process Alignment: Standardize trainingmethods across shifts and departments to eliminate variance in execution.
3. Safety & Quality Training Coordination
  • Corrective Action Support: Work with Quality and Safety teams to develop targeted re-training or refresher modules in response to audits, non-conformances (CAPAs), or safety incidents.
  • Audit Readiness: Maintain audit-ready training records and qualifications for internal and external quality/safety audits.
4. Onboarding & New Hire Orientation
  • Onboarding Program Management: Facilitate and refine the technical and operational onboarding process for new hires and internal transfers.
  • Orientation Support: Deliver general orientation sessions covering safety protocols, quality standards, and company operating principles.
  • Peer Trainer Support: Assign, support, andevaluate Designated On-the-Job Trainers (OJT) to ensure consistent instruction during a new hire's first 30/60/90 days.
5. Logistics, Tracking & Execution
  • Scheduling & Coordination: Schedule training sessions, reserve resources/rooms, and coordinate shift coverage with floor supervisors.
  • LMS / Record Management: Maintain the Learning Management System (LMS) or local training database, logging completions, certifications, and refresher dates accurately.
