Training and Capability Development Coordinator
Position Summary
The Plant Training and Capability Development role is responsible for establishing and sustaining the plant’s training framework to support workforce capability, compliance, and operational performance. This position leads the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of training systems, materials, and processes that support onboarding, technical development, leadership growth, and plant initiatives. They partner with the Subject matter experts as the experts serve as the primary trainers for job-specific content, while this role provides the structure, standards, documentation, and process oversight needed to support effective execution across the organization.
Primary Responsibilities
- Partner with subject matter experts and department representatives to support delivery of approved training programs for new hires and current employees.
- Support the development, revision, organization, and maintenance of training materials, presentations, reference tools, and other learning resources in collaboration with subject matter experts and department representatives.
- Lead coordination of onboarding and orientation activities to support consistent employee integration into plant expectations, processes, and culture.
- Manage training schedules, communication, attendance tracking, and related logistics for classroom, and virtual training activities.
- Maintain accurate training records, qualification documentation, certification status, and related files in approved systems. Develop and implement initial skill matrix structure, with ongoing maintenance managed by departments.
- Track training completion, recertification requirements, follow-up actions, and training effectiveness. Prepare reports and provide documentation for audits and compliance requirements.
- Support written and practical evaluations, qualification activities, and role-based training requirements as needed.
- Partner with HR, management, engineering, EHS, quality, and department representatives to align training materials and processes with plant needs and company standards.
- Lead workforce development initiatives such as apprenticeship programs, tuition reimbursement, grant‑funded programs, cross‑training, and leadership development efforts.
- Develop training plans and support implementation related to new equipment, technologies, processes, and plant initiatives.
- Participate in cross‑functional meetings, workgroups, and improvement activities related to training, workforce development, and operational performance.
- Support compliance with company standards, customer requirements, and applicable regulatory expectations through effective training coordination and documentation.
- Provide facilitation support for approved training sessions as needed.
- Perform other training‑related administrative or support duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business, or a related field preferred. Equivalent experience or relevant certifications accepted.
- Experience in training, workforce development, learning administration, HR support, or a related field preferred, with manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience working with learning systems, ERP systems, or other business platforms.
- Experience developing/writing standard work instructions, a plus.

- Strong attention to detail and follow‑up skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with teams across the plant.
- Understanding of compliance, EHS expectations, and continuous improvement concepts such as 5S and Kaizen preferred.
