Job summary

Air Canada in Los Angeles, CA is hiring a Training Specialist to design and deliver training for cargo and airport operations. You will manage classroom and on-the-job training, verify attendance, prepare rooms and materials, and provide coaching to staff.

The role requires 2–3 years of teaching or training experience, ability to work autonomously, strong communication, and flexibility for travel as needed. Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.

Qualifications

  • 2 to 3 years of experience in teaching, training, facilitation or a related learning role.
  • Experience in cargo, airport operations, air transport sector or other operational environment is strongly desired.
  • Ability to work autonomously, stay organized and adapt approach to different learners.
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong planning, organizational and time management skills with high attention to detail.
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and common office technologies.
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and maintain professional attitude in demanding situations.
  • Collaborative and proactive spirit and sincere interest in helping others learn.
  • Flexibility to work variable schedules and travel based on operational requirements.
  • Knowledge of Spanish is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and deliver training programs, including classroom training and on-the-job training.
  • Confirm participant attendance and ensure training rooms, computers, equipment, exercises and activities are ready.
  • Facilitate clear and dynamic learning sessions for employees with different backgrounds and levels of experience.
  • Administer exams, document results and communicate whether standards have been met.
  • Evaluate participant performance and provide constructive feedback and coaching in a timely manner.
  • Provide operational support and coaching to frontline employees, as needed.
  • Accurately and timely complete training records and all related administrative documentation.
  • Review existing and proposed training programs and recommend practical improvements.
  • Collaborate with the training delivery manager and other members of the Customer Service training team.
  • Support training related to airport operations, air cargo and dangerous goods, as needed.
