Job summary

Berkshire Hathaway Homestate Companies is seeking a Workers’ Compensation Claims Adjuster Trainee in California to manage a caseload from inception to resolution. You will conduct investigations, review medical records, and coordinate actions to drive timely resolutions.

Upon completion of the training program, you will handle assignments with guidance, develop plans for each claim, and negotiate settlements within authority limits.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree preferred.
• Spanish fluency preferred.
• Exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; able to learn databases and vendor software.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of workers' compensation claims from inception to resolution.
• Conduct initial investigation and analysis; strategic planning.
• Review medical records to determine coverage, compensability, and severity.
• Develop action plans and coordinate tasks with clerical staff.
• Prepare settlement recommendations within authority parameters and negotiate outcomes.
