Job summary

FSS Technologies, LLC is seeking an Apprentice Fire Sprinkler Inspector to join our field team in Bemidji, MN. This entry-level trainee position works under a qualified inspector to inspect, test, and maintain water-based fire protection systems in commercial and multifamily buildings.

You will gain hands-on experience, complete training to NICET Level I, and progress through the Inspector role. The job emphasizes safety, accurate reporting, and customer coordination.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED completed.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Basic math skills including reading gauges and simple calculations.
• Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn fire protection systems.
• Ability to use a smartphone/tablet for reports.
• Able to follow written and verbal instructions and communicate clearly.
• Pre-employment screening including background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Assist with scheduled inspections, tests, and maintenance of sprinkler systems.
• Visually inspect sprinklers, piping, gauges, and signs for defects or obstructions.
• Assist with valve tests, main drain and pump tests as directed.
• Document results accurately in forms and include photos.
• Ensure systems are back in service after inspections and notify relevant parties.
