Job summary

Qualifications

Must have a valid driver’s license and maintain a DOT file.
Ability to understand and follow instructions regarding work duties and safety methods.
Ability to discern numbers and information to sort packages correctly.
Proficient with basic tools and equipment such as hand-held scanners, dock carts, chutes and unloading devices.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills; works well in a fast-paced team environment.

Responsibilities

Performs trailer switches by hooking and moving a parked trailer from yard to door or vice versa.
Coordinates trailer movements with management/central control.
Documents trailer moves using Yard Management System or switcher cards.
Performs pre- and post-trip inspections on switcher equipment.
Loads and unloads packages onto/from delivery vehicles, trailers, conveyor system carts and load gratings.
Sorts packages by scanning, reading labels and memorizing information.
Assists with other duties as assigned.
