Qualifications

• Six months of switcher or package handler experience preferred.

• Ability to read labels and numbers to sort packages accurately.
• Ability to lift and move packages safely using available equipment.

Responsibilities

• Performs trailer switches by hooking and moving a parked trailer from yard to a door and vice versa.
• Coordinates trailer movements with management or central control.
• Documents trailer moves using Yard Management System or switcher cards.
• Performs pre- and post-trip inspections on switcher equipment.
• Uses hand-to-surface methods for all package handling and loads/unloads packages.
• Sorts packages by scanning, reading labels, verifying numbers, and using conveyors.
