J.B. Hunt Transport, Inc. is seeking a Trailer Mechanic II in Maryland to perform intermediate maintenance and repairs on trailers and equipment.

You will troubleshoot issues, complete work orders, and ensure serviceability to JB Hunt standards. The role requires hands-on skills, basic tools, and flexibility for shifts. The position emphasizes preventative maintenance, safety procedures, and effective communication with JB Hunt personnel and customers.

Formación

• Must be 18 years of age with 2 years of experience in semi-trailer maintenance and repair, or equivalent combination of education and experience, or military equivalent
• And demonstrate the following skills and abilities through education, certifications, military, or other experiences
• At least 1 year of experience in DOT inspections, FHWA inspections, and air brakes
• Able to supply your own basic tools, or purchase through our toolbox purchase program
• Willingness to work outdoors in the elements
• Able to work across multiple shifts, including nights and/or weekends if needed

Responsabilidades

• Demonstrate proficient knowledge of preventative maintenance and standard repairs related to trailer equipment, including fuel systems, batteries, engines, drive trains, onboard computers, transmissions, air brake systems and FHWA inspections
• Troubleshoot trailer issues and accurately perform intermediate-level repairs to company and manufacturer’s specifications, complete work orders and demonstrate understanding of company requirements for standard repair times (SRT) and warranty guidelines
• Assist with the onboarding and mentorship of trailer technician trainees
• Participate in Original Equipment Manufacture training for OE repairs
• Understand and effectively follow all shop safety procedures
• Maintain professional communication with J.B. Hunt personnel and customers
