Job summary

J.B. Hunt Transport, Inc. in Bethlehem, PA, is seeking a Trailer Mechanic II to perform intermediate maintenance, service, and repair on trailers and equipment.

You will troubleshoot issues, ensure fleet readiness, and work under routine supervision to meet company standards. The role includes a $1500 sign-on bonus for a limited time, opportunities for bonuses based on profitability or volumes, and a benefits package.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age with 2 years of experience in semi-trailer maintenance and repair, or equivalent combination of education and experience, or military equivalent.
• At least 1 year of experience in DOT inspections, FHWA inspections, and air brakes.
• Willingness to work outdoors and across multiple shifts, including nights and/or weekends if needed.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate proficient knowledge of preventative maintenance and standard repairs related to trailer equipment, including fuel systems, batteries, engines, drive trains, onboard computers, transmissions, air brake systems and FHWA inspections.
• Troubleshoot trailer issues and perform intermediate-level repairs to company and manufacturer’s specifications; complete work orders and follow SRT/warranty guidelines.
• Assist with onboarding and mentorship of trailer technician trainees.
• Participate in Original Equipment Manufacturer training for OE repairs.
• Understand and follow all shop safety procedures.
• Maintain professional communication with J.B. Hunt personnel and customers.
