Job summary

U.S. Xpress seeks a Technician, I Trailer in Ellenwood, GA to perform basic preventative maintenance and repairs on trailers. You will inspect brakes, tires, wiring, fluids, and tires, while maintaining productivity and following PM guidelines.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid driver's license, and a DOT/brake certification. A Diesel Technology Diploma is preferred, with 1+ year mechanical experience recommended.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Technical Diploma from an accredited Diesel Technology Program preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year of mechanical experience preferred.
• DOT and Brake certification required to perform PMs and brake work.
• OEM Online certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic preventative maintenance and repairs on trailers.
• Perform basic and routine preventative maintenance on trailers as outlined in USX PM guidelines.
• Perform basic or minor repairs and inspections on brakes, tires, wiring etc.
• Check vehicle fluids (e.g. transmission, oil, windshield wiper, antifreeze, etc.).
• Change vehicle tires.
• Grease mechanical parts.
• Maintain a high productivity level and complete most jobs within or close to SRT times.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
