Job summary

U.S. Xpress in Jacksonville is seeking a Technician, I Trailer to perform basic preventative maintenance and repairs on trailers. The role runs Tuesday through Friday, 6:00am–4:30pm, on-site at JACKSONVILLE USX TERMINAL with a comprehensive benefits package.

Minimum 1 year of mechanical experience is preferred; a Diesel Tech diploma can substitute for one year of experience. Valid license and ability to read/write are required; tools must be owned by the employee.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Technical Diploma from an accredited Diesel Technology Program preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year mechanical experience preferred.
• A Technical Diploma may substitute for 1 year of required experience.
• Experience in the transportation industry preferred.
• Computer experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic preventative maintenance and repairs on trailers.
• Perform basic and routine preventative maintenance on trailers as outlined in USX PM guidelines.
• Perform basic or minor repairs and inspections on brakes, tires, wiring etc.
• Check vehicle fluids and tires; grease mechanical parts.
• Maintain high productivity and complete most jobs within SRT times.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
