Job summary

U.S. Xpress in Ellenwood, MD is seeking a Technician, I Trailer to perform basic preventive maintenance and repairs on trailers at the Ellenwood USX Terminal. The role runs Sunday to Wednesday, 6:00am–4:30pm, with no remote option.

Compensation ranges from $22.35 to $24.83 per hour. Required: high school diploma or equivalent; diesel tech diploma preferred; 1 year mechanical experience; valid driver's license; DOT/Brake certifications.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Technical Diploma from a Diesel Technology Program preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year of mechanical experience preferred.
• DOT and Brake certification required to perform PMs and brake work.
• Experience in the transportation industry preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic preventative maintenance and repairs on trailers.
• Perform basic and routine preventative maintenance on trailers as outlined in USX PM guidelines.
• Perform basic or minor repairs and inspections on brakes, tires, wiring etc.
• Check vehicle fluids (transmission, oil, windshield wiper, antifreeze).
• Change vehicle tires.
• Grease mechanical parts.
• Maintain a high productivity level and complete most jobs within or close to SRT times.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
