Job summary

Old Dominion Freight Line, Inc. is seeking a Trailer Technician for the 2nd shift in Forest View, IL. You will perform preventative maintenance, diagnose mechanical and electrical issues, and repair fleet equipment to keep services on schedule.

The role requires experience as a maintenance technician, own tools, and a valid CDL when required. You’ll work with a safety-focused team to meet DOT/ EPA standards and improve overall uptime.

Qualifications

• High School degree or equivalent.
• Experience as a maintenance technician or equivalent.
• Experience with truck repair and body/frame repair.
• Must provide own tools.
• Valid Commercial Driver’s License when required.
• Ability to read precision instruments and use diagnostic tools.
• Knowledge of DOT, EPA, ICC and OSHA rules.
• Willingness to attend training and respond to schedule changes.
• Physical ability to perform required lifting and movements.

Responsibilities

• Build, rebuild and repair all parts of company equipment as needed.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical or other breakdowns on trucks or trailers.
• Read precision instruments (micrometers, dial indicators, bore gauges, voltmeters, multimeters, calibrators).
• Troubleshoot and perform failure analysis of components and systems.
• Weld as needed to complete repairs.
• Ensure compliance with DOT/ EPA/ ICC/ OSHA rules and regulations.
