Job summary

Old Dominion Freight Line, Inc. is seeking skilled automotive mechanics to repair company equipment, perform preventative maintenance, and diagnose and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues on trucks and trailers.

The role requires experience as a maintenance technician, the ability to read precision instruments, and willingness to welding when needed. CDL may be required depending on position and state regulations; tools are employee-provided.

Qualifications

• High School degree or equivalent.
• Experience working as a maintenance technician or equivalent education.
• Experience with truck repair, body and frame repair.
• Must provide own tools to perform job duties.
• Must possess a valid Commercial Driver’s License (when required).
• Basic ability to read and interpret work orders and manuals.

Responsibilities

• Repair and rebuild components of company equipment as required.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical or other breakdowns on trucks and trailers.
• Read precision instruments and use diagnostic tools.
• Troubleshoot and perform component/failure analysis on vehicles.
• Apply welding to truck repairs as needed.
• Maintain safety and regulatory compliance.
• Complete required paperwork and records.
