Job summary

Old Dominion Freight Line is seeking a dedicated Maintenance Technician in California to help keep our fleet reliable and compliant. You will perform preventive maintenance, diagnose mechanical and electrical issues, and ensure timely repairs across our equipment while upholding safety standards.

The role requires reading precision instruments, basic welding as needed, and adherence to DOT/OSHA regulations.

Qualifications

  • Education: High School degree or equivalent.
  • Experience: maintenance technician experience or equivalent education.
  • Must provide own tools for job duties.
  • Ability to complete required paperwork and records.
  • Valid Commercial Driver’s License where required.
  • Knowledge of DOT, EPA, ICC and OSHA rules.

Responsibilities

  • Repair company equipment in a safe, timely, cost effective and practical manner including preventative maintenance and general repairs.
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical or other failures on trucks or related equipment.
  • Read precision instruments and electronic diagnostic tools.
  • Troubleshoot and perform failure analysis of components and systems on trucks and trailers.
  • Welding may be required for certain repairs.
  • Comply with DOT/OSHA/ICC regulations and participate in training as needed.
