Schneider National, Inc. in Shrewsbury, MA is hiring a Trailer Technician for the 1st shift (Wednesday–Friday and every other weekend, 5:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m.).

You will perform routine maintenance, inspections and component replacements on company trailers and use maintenance software to track work orders. Ideal candidates have a technical degree in welding, electronics, or one year of trailer technician experience, basic welding skills, and ability to work with diagnostic software.

Qualifications

• Technical degree in welding, electronics, or related systems or 1 year trailer technician experience.
• Basic welding skills preferred.
• Experience with computer systems and diagnostic software.
• Ability to make maintenance/repair recommendations.
• Own tools to be provided within 30 days of hire.

Job overview:

• Perform routine maintenance, inspections, rebuilds and component replacements as a Trailer Technician in Shrewsbury, MA.
• Work on company trailers.

Responsibilities:

• Perform routine repairs and preventive maintenance to trailers – like tire changes, minor electrical repairs and greasing.
• Use maintenance software to create and track work orders.
• Communicate status updates with internal customers.

Skills and qualifications:

• Technical degree in welding, electronics, or related systems, or a minimum of 1 year of trailer technician experience.
• Basic welding skills preferred.
• Computer systems and diagnostic software experience.
• Able to provide recommendations regarding maintenance and repair decisions.
• Able to provide own tools within 30 days of hire.

• Starting wages are $26.20 - $32.70 per hour, based on experience.
  • Non-exempt U.S. shop associates working weekend hours, receive a $0.65 per hour differential for hours worked. (Weekend hours worked between 9pm Friday – 5am Monday).
