Job summary

J.B. Hunt Transport, Inc. seeks a Trailer Technician II in Harbeson, DE to perform intermediate maintenance and repairs on trailers and equipment. You will troubleshoot issues, complete fleet maintenance, and ensure compliance with J.B.

Hunt standards. You will assist with onboarding trainees, participate in OE training, and follow safety procedures. The role requires outdoor work, own basic tools, and availability for varying shifts including nights and weekends.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years in semi-trailer maintenance and repair or equivalent experience.
  • At least 1 year of DOT and FHWA inspections and air brakes knowledge.
  • Ability to supply basic tools or use toolbox purchase program.
  • Willingness to work outdoors and across shifts, nights/weekends if needed.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate preventive maintenance and standard repairs on trailer equipment.
  • Troubleshoot issues and perform intermediate repairs to specs.
  • Complete work orders and adhere to SRT and warranty guidelines.
  • Assist with onboarding and mentoring trailer technician trainees.
  • Participate in OE training for repairs.
  • Follow shop safety procedures and maintain professional communication.

Hunt standards at all times.Job Description:Key Responsibilities :Demonstrate proficient knowledge of preventative maintenance and standard repairs related to trailer equipment, including fuel systems, batteries, engines, drive trains, onboard computers, transmissions, air brake systems and FHWA inspectionsTroubleshoot trailer issues and accurately perform intermediate-level repairs to company and manufacturer’s specifications, complete work orders and demonstrate understanding of company requirements for standard repair times (SRT) and warranty guidelinesAssist with the onboarding and mentorship of trailer technician traineesParticipate in Original Equipment Manufacture training for OE repairsUnderstand and effectively follow all shop safety proceduresMaintain professional communication with J.B.
