Job summary
Cox Automotive Inc. in Michigan is seeking a Shop Trailer Mechanic II for an on-site shop role focused on performing certified DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, light repairs, and related tasks on trailer systems.
You will work under a Senior Technician and handle routine maintenance, document findings, and ensure compliance with safety standards. The position offers weekly pay, boots/glasses reimbursement, uniforms, and access to ongoing technical training to support career progression
Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED with 3 years related experience or 5 years experience without HS diploma.
- Must supply a set of hand tools for the job.
- ASE T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months is required.
- Participate in and complete all required training.
Responsibilities
- Perform DOT inspections and scheduled preventative maintenance on trailers.
- Identify parts and coordinate with Parts Dept to obtain them.
- Maintain a clean, safe work environment and document work in the RO system.
- Diagnose, adjust, and repair trailer components including brakes, air lines, and belts.
- Work with Service Writer to assess customer needs and resolve issues.
- Follow safety policies, OSHA/DOT regulations, and company procedures.
