Truck Centers, Inc. in Mount Vernon, IL is seeking a Trailer Parts Specialist to own the daily trailer parts process, support promotions, and match customers with the right parts.

You will work across multiple locations in Illinois, Indiana, or Missouri, travel up to 50%, and use FleetPerform to stay organized while delivering top-notch service.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant work experience in aftermarket sales, parts, or trailer industry preferred.
• Valid Driver’s License and ability to meet insurance requirements.
• Strong numerical aptitude, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
• Able to maintain stamina in a fast-paced environment and adapt to shifting workloads.
• Proficiency with computer inventory systems and MS Office; FleetPerform experience a plus.
• Ability to travel up to 50%.
• Must pass pre-employment background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Own the daily trailer parts process—sales tickets, returns, and account updates.
• Collaborate with Parts Marketing Manager on promotions and pricing strategies.
• Identify customer needs and match them with parts and solutions.
• Develop new business opportunities and strengthen relationships with current customers.
• Use FleetPerform to track activity and stay organized.
• Stay up to date on supplier products, warranties, and policies.
• Help host training nights and customer events to showcase offerings.
• Provide top-notch customer service during the day and after hours when needed.
• Operate forklifts and pallet jacks safely.
• Occasionally visit other TCI locations to support Outside Parts Team.

Job Description

The Trailer Parts Specialist is a pivotal role in TCI’s continued market expansion to deliver comprehensive, high-quality parts and services to our customers. We're looking for a Trailer Parts Specialist who’s ready to roll up their sleeves and help us deliver best-in-class service and support to our customers. This role is a Shared Services position that can be based out of our Mt. Vernon, IL location or out of any of our 10 TCI locations in Illinois, Indiana, or Missouri.

What You'll Do:

• Own the daily trailer parts process—handle sales tickets, customer returns, and keep customer accounts up to date with sharp attention to detail.
• Work closely with our Parts Marketing Manager to support promotions, pricing strategies, and ongoing team training.
• Be the go-to for our customers—identify their needs, support sales efforts, and help match them with the right parts and solutions.
• Support our growth by finding new business opportunities and strengthening relationships with our current customers.
• Use the FleetPerform system to stay organized, track activity, and make sure everything’s running smoothly.
• Stay up to date on products from our suppliers, including warranties, policies, and digital systems.
• Help us keep innovating—spot new products, suggest promotions, host training nights, and plan customer events to showcase our offerings.
• Provide top-notch customer service during the day and on-call after hours when needed.
• Use equipment safely—including forklifts and pallet jacks—following all safety guidelines and company policies.
• Hit the road occasionally to visit other TCI locations and support our Outside Parts Team with field work and customer development.

Qualifications

What We're Looking For:

• 5+ years of relevant work experience; aftermarket sales, parts, or trailer experience is highly preferred
• Valid Driver’s License and ability to meet insurance requirements
• Strong numerical aptitude, organizational skills, communication, and attention to detail
• Able to stay focused and maintain both physical and emotional stamina in a fast-paced environment, adapting to shifting workloads and priorities to meet deadlines safely and efficiently.
• Resourceful, collaborative team player with the ability to also self-manage time and thrive independently
• Proficiency utilizing computer inventory systems and MS Office, experience with FleetPerform is a plus
• Ability to travel up to 50%
• Must participatein pre-employment background check and drug screen
