Job summary

Quality Carriers, Inc. is seeking an energetic Trailer Mechanic to join our Baton Rouge service team. This full-time role diagnoses, repairs, and maintains semi-truck trailers and tractors, performs 90-day inspections, and ensures compliance with DOT and safety standards while working from a service truck.

You will use welding, electrical, hydraulic knowledge and DOT rules, order parts, and document work in our maintenance system. Competitive weekly pay and benefits apply.

Qualifications

• Must possess at least 1 year of experience with general knowledge of tractor and trailer maintenance, DOT rules and regulations, company policies and procedures.
• Must possess at least 1 year of experience with general knowledge of equipment theory, principles and repair relating to diesel engines, air, and electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.
• R-Stamp Certified (Able to weld 2G, 3G, 4G and other welding needs on equipment)
• Must have 1 plus years of TIG

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair tractors and trailers. Perform annual/systematic 90 day inspections (trailers) on equipment as required.
• Operate a yard hostler truck to move trailers within the facility yard and the shop as needed.
• Order and receive parts and supplies as needed.
• Adheres to all established safety (OSHA) and environmental policies and standards to include identification, use, and proper procedures for handling or disposal of hazardous waste.
• Clean, organize and maintain the work environment to ensure equipment longevity and workplace safety
