Job summary

Quality Carriers, Inc. in Robstown, TX is seeking an energetic Trailer Mechanic to diagnose, repair and maintain semi-truck trailers and tractors, and perform preventive maintenance while working from a service truck. The role requires adherence to DOT, federal, and state regulations and company standards.

Qualifications

• Must possess at least 1 year of experience with general knowledge of equipment theory, diesel engines, air, electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.
• Must possess at least 1 year of experience with general knowledge of tractor and trailer maintenance, DOT rules and regulations, company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair tractors and trailers.
• Perform annual/systematic 90 day inspections on trailers.
• Ensure equipment meets Federal FHWA standards.
• Operate a yard hostler truck to move trailers within the facility yard and the shop as needed.
• Identify parts and supplies as needed.
• Adhere to OSHA and environmental policies and standards for safety and disposal of hazardous waste.
• Keep work area clean and organized to extend equipment life.
• Perform welding as required.
