Trailer Equipment / Trailer X-Press in Byron Center, MI is seeking an experienced Semi-Trailer Technician to diagnose, maintain, and repair trailer systems and components in a modern, well-equipped shop. This full-time role offers a stable schedule, weekly pay, and opportunities for overtime in West Michigan’s leading trailer service team.

Earn $20-$35 per hour based on experience with monthly proficiency bonus, certification raises, and reimbursement programs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to pass pre-employment screening.
• Own hand tools required.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability.
• Dependable attendance and strong work ethic.
• Ability to obtain Michigan State Certifications.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, maintain, and repair a variety of trailer systems and components.
• Work on electrical and wiring systems, ABS and brake systems, wheel seals, bearings, suspension components, air systems.
• Perform welding and fabrication repairs; conduct DOT inspections and safety evaluations; provide preventive maintenance and trailer structural repairs.

What You'll Do

As a Semi-Trailer Technician, you'll diagnose, maintain, and repair a variety of trailer systems and components, including:

• Electrical and wiring systems
• ABS and brake systems
• Wheel seals, bearings, and suspension components
• Air systems and trailer diagnostics
• Welding and fabrication repairs
• DOT inspections and safety evaluations
• Preventive maintenance services
• Trailer structural repairs and component replacement

Additional responsibilities include:

• Documenting repairs and parts usage
• Maintaining accurate maintenance records
• Identifying safety concerns and repair needs
• Supporting fellow technicians when needed
• Maintaining a clean and safe work environment

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Ability to pass pre-employment screening requirements
• Own hand tools appropriate for the position
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability
• Dependable attendance and strong work ethic
• Ability to obtain Michigan State Certifications

Preferred Experience

• 2-5 years of semi-trailer, heavy-duty equipment, or diesel repair experience
• Trailer electrical and wiring diagnostics
• ABS and air brake system experience
• Welding and fabrication experience
• DOT inspection experience
• Knowledge of DOT, OSHA, and related regulations
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
