Job summary

RSS Mobile Trailer Repair is seeking an experienced Trailer Mechanic to diagnose and repair semi-trailer systems in the Grand Rapids, MI area. You will inspect trailers, troubleshoot issues, and perform preventative maintenance while communicating clearly with customers and coworkers.

We offer an hourly wage of $25–$30, quarterly bonuses after 90 days, a Monday–Friday day schedule, and comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, paid holidays, 401(k) after one year,

Qualifications

• Experience as a Trailer Mechanic or Diesel Mechanic.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and diagnose malfunctions on all trailer systems.
• Troubleshoot, repair and replace defective components.
• Perform regular maintenance on trailers including ABS, air brakes, frame, suspension, electrical systems.
• Coordinate with staff to receive, execute and bill work.
• Maintain positive relationships with customers.

A successful candidate for this position will be an experienced Trailer Mechanic or Diesel Mechanic with a strong understanding of semi-trailer diagnostics and repair. Someone living near the Grand Rapids, MI area, who is self-motivated, able to work independently, safety-minded, and is able to effectively communicate with customers and co-workers.

WHAT WE OFFER

• $25-$30/hour or commensurate with experience.
• Quarterly performance Bonus after 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and diagnose malfunctions on all trailer systems.

• Perform regular check-ups and preventative maintenance on trailers and parts, including: ABS, air brakes, frame, body, suspension and electrical systems.
• Coordinate with other staff to receive, execute and bill work in a timely & proper manner.
• Help maintain positive working relationships with current customers.

Requirements

• Must be an experienced Trailer Mechanic.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Ability to pass a physical and drug screen.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
