Job summary

HMD Trucking Inc. is looking to hire a full-time Trailer Mechanic to join our on-site repair and maintenance shop in the Chicago area. You will inspect, service and repair company owned trailers, reporting to the Shop Director.

Requirements include proven experience as a Trailer Mechanic, proficiency in diagnosing and repairing trailers, and strong knowledge of semi-trailers. The role runs Monday–Friday, 6:00am–4:00pm with rotating Saturday availability, on-site.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, service and repair company owned trailers.

• Troubleshoot electrical issues and malfunctions.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and follow safety protocols.

Job Summary:

HMD Trucking Inc. is looking to hire a full-time Trailer Mechanic to join our on-site repair and maintenance shop. Reporting to the Shop Director, the Trailer Mechanic will inspect, service and repair company owned trailers.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Ability to remove and replace subframe assembly.
• Troubleshoot electrical malfunctions and issues.
• Remove and replace designated airlines, crossmembers, axle hub assemblies, mud flap brackets and dolly leg assemblies.
• Ability to repair and replace flooring, doors and door gaskets.
• Install exterior components of vents and manifest boxes.
• Keep accurate records of all maintenance and repairs performed.
• Adhere to safety protocols and regulations at all times.
• Collaborate with other team members to complete tasks efficiently and effectively.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Trailer Mechanic.
• Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing trailers.
• Strong knowledge of Semi-Trailers.
• Knowledge of basic hand tools.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Job Type:Full-Time , On Site

Pay:$25.00 - $40.00 per hour

Shift Schedule:

• Monday - Friday
• 6:00am - 4:00pm
• Rotating Saturday availability required
