Job summary

XPO is hiring a Trailer Mechanic in New York to perform routine maintenance on trailers and repair components across the fleet. You will inspect, access, and work on equipment in various trailer areas, ensuring compliance with DOT, EPA, OSHA standards and company schedules.

Qualifications

• 1 year of verifiable heavy-duty maintenance or entry-level technician experience.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Ability to perform safety inspections and document results.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Able to work diverse shifts (days/evenings/nights/weekends).
• Brake inspection qualified per FMCSA 369.25.
• Vehicle inspection qualified per FMCSA 369.19.
• Basic hand tools required for heavy-duty trailer maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance on trailers per manufacturer, DOT, and company schedules.
• Inspect and access equipment in/on/under trailer parts for maintenance.
• Repair or rebuild components of trailer systems.
• Follow DOT, EPA, OSHA and related regulations.
• Maintain proficiency with equipment and productivity-enhancing tech.
• Move trailers around property and operate a hostler in various weather.
• Enter job times and parts on repair orders for tracking.
• Operate specialized tooling and vehicles.
• Keep work area clean, safe, and organized.
• Interact with operations and shop management.
