Job summary

Pinnacle Equipment LLC in Fontana, CA seeks a skilled Trailer Mechanic to inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain a fleet of trailers, ensuring safe, DOT-compliant operation. Work mainly in the shop and yard performing preventive maintenance across braking, electrical, hydraulics, and structural systems.

You will repair air brake and suspension systems, weld as needed, replace tires and bearings, document work in the fleet maintenance system, and respond to after-hours repair needs with a focus

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 2 years of hands-on trailer/heavy equipment repair experience.
• Knowledge of air brake, electrical, hydraulic, and suspension systems.
• Ability to read repair manuals and schematics.
• Valid CA driver’s license with satisfactory record.
• DOT, FMCSA, and Cal/OSHA safety awareness.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair trailers including brakes, suspension, axles, tires, lighting, and electrical systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance and FHWA/DOT inspections to stay compliant.
• Troubleshoot air brakes, hydraulics, landing gear, doors, and reefer units as applicable.
• Weld, fabricate, and repair trailer frames, floors, and bodies.
• Replace tires, wheels, and bearings; verify torque and alignment.
• Document inspections, repairs, and parts in the fleet system; keep area safe.
