Job summary

Pinnacle Equipment LLC in Gold River, CA is hiring a Trailer Mechanic for 1st shift (6:00 am - 4:30 pm, Wed-Sat). The role focuses on inspecting, diagnosing, and maintaining a fleet of trailers to ensure DOT-compliant, safe operations.

The candidate will work in the shop/yard, performing preventive maintenance, repairs across braking, electrical, suspension, hydraulic, and structural systems, and will document all work in the fleet maintenance system.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; 2+ years trailer/heavy equipment repair experience preferred.
• Must be able to read repair manuals, schematics, and technical specs.
• Valid California driver s license with clean driving record required.
• Proficiency with air brake, electrical, hydraulic, and suspension systems.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in varying conditions.
• Knowledge of DOT, FMCSA, Cal/OSHA safety regulations required.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair trailers, including brakes, suspension, axles, tires, lighting, and electrical/air systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance and federal annual (FHWA) inspections for DOT compliance.
• Troubleshoot air brake, hydraulic, and reefer systems; repair doors and refrigeration units.
• Weld, fabricate, and repair trailer frames, floors, and bodies as needed.
• Replace tires, wheels, and bearings; verify torque and alignment.
• Move and test trailers to confirm repair quality.
• Document inspections, parts used, and labor in maintenance system.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area per Cal/OSHA and company policy.
• Respond to roadside or after-hours repair requests as required.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
