Job summary

R+L Carriers is seeking a Trailer Mechanic for the Colonial Heights, VA service center. Work on trailers, perform diagnostics, repairs and routine maintenance on 2nd shift (3:00 pm to 1:30 am). Earn PTO after 90 days and enjoy a strong benefits package. Must own tools and be able to lift 50 lbs.

Responsibilities include safety inspections, interpreting manuals, and ensuring compliance with FMCSA and other regulations. Prior experience with Class 8 trucks is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experienced in safety inspections and FMCSA regulations.
• Able to interpret technical manuals.
• Experience repairing or replacing defective parts or systems.
• Experience testing equipment to ensure performance meets specs and regulations.
• Experience with trailer PMs and repairs.
• Able to lift 50 lbs.
• Must own your own tools.
• Must be dependable.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair trailers and perform maintenance as needed.
• Carry out preventive maintenance and inspections.
• Ensure work meets manufacturer specifications and regulatory requirements.
