Job summary

TOTE Group in Tacoma, WA seeks a Trailer Mechanic (L1-3) to perform basic and intermediate troubleshooting, diagnostics, preventive maintenance and repairs on heavy trailers and trucks under supervision. You will operate safely under HSSE policies and contribute to emissions and brake system diagnostics.

The role requires 1–2 years of heavy equipment repair experience, a valid driver’s license, and a basic toolkit.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 1–2 years heavy trailer and truck equipment repair experience.
• Technical or trade school training in diesel mechanics desirable.
• Valid driver’s license and own a basic tool kit.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic and intermediate-level troubleshooting, diagnostics, preventive maintenance and repairs on heavy trailers and trucks under supervision.
• Operate safely and in compliance with HSSE policies.
• Perform part diagnostics, repair and replacement; emissions troubleshooting and repair; brake system diagnostics and repair.
• Maintain and diagnose using standard repair manuals and IWS/PeopleNet tools.

Trailer Mechanic (L1-3)

Position Profile

Performs basic and intermediate level troubleshooting, diagnostics, preventive maintenance and repairs on heavy trailers and trucks while under the supervision of a more experienced mechanic.

• Operate safely and in compliance with all established HSSE policies and procedures


• Performs part diagnostics, repair and replacement


• Performs emissions troubleshooting and repair


• Performs brake system diagnostics and repair

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED equivalent


• One to two years heavy trailer, truck equipment repair and maintenance experience


• Technical or trade school training in the field of diesel mechanics desirable


• Valid driver’s license


• Must own a basic tool kit to perform the job

• Competent level performance of M1, M2, M3 job duties, knowledge, skills and abilities (must be qualified for each level before moving to the next)
