Job summary

R+L Carriers is seeking a Trailer Mechanic at our Maybrook, NY service center. You will diagnose, repair, and maintain trailers, performing safety inspections and ensuring compliance with FMCSA regulations. Candidates should be able to interpret manuals and work with required tools.

Full-time role with a 4:00 pm–2:30 am shift, and a benefits package including paid vacation after 90 days and access to exclusive employee resorts.

Qualifications

• Experience repairing or replacing defective parts or systems.

Job Description:

R+L Carriers has an immediate opportunity for Trailer Mechanics at our Maybrook, NY. Service Center. As a Trailer Mechanic, your responsibilities will include the diagnostic process, repair work, and overall maintenance of our trailers.

Requirements:

• Experienced in performing safety inspections of equipment and prepare safety documents required by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), company, and any other Federal, State, or Local regulations
• Must be able to Interpret technical manuals
• Must have experience in repairing or replacing defective parts, components, or systems
• Experience in testing equipment for proper performance and to ensure that the work meets manufacturer’s specifications and legislated regulations
• Experience in trailer PMs and repairs
• Must be able to lift 50lbs
• Must own your own tools
• Must be dependable
• Must be prepared to work in climate situation when needed.

Preferred:

• Experience using Cetaris Maintenance Work Order System
• Welding
• Experience driving yard tractor/trailers
• Previous experience working on Class 8 commercial vehicles
• Sheet metal and composite panel repair
