Job summary

National Tank Services, part of the Trimac Family of Companies, seeks a shop technician to perform preventive maintenance on trailers and assist with trucks. You will move equipment in and out of the shop and open repair orders while ensuring safety and quality.

Requirements include a valid driver’s license, basic hand tools, basic computer skills, ability to read service manuals, and knowledge of DOT regulations and hazardous waste handling.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Basic hand tools must be provided by the candidate.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Ability to read and comprehend service manuals.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations and out‑of‑service parameters for tractors, trailers, and equipment.
• Knowledge of proper handling and disposal of hazardous waste materials.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on trailers and be open to working on trucks.
• Move trucks and trailers in and out of the shop for maintenance.
• Open repair orders and charge parts to the repair order.
• Perform tire inspections and complete paperwork to company standards.
• Assist with shop clean-up and other related duties.
• Inspect and maintain vehicle readiness including fuel, tires, fluids, brakes, lights, and safety equipment.
• Understand and perform Driver Vehicle Inspection Repair (DVIR).
• Diagnose and repair tire/wheel, brakes and air systems, clutch and linkage.

Pay Details

• Pay based on experience

Schedule

• Monday - Friday
• 7:00 am - 3:30 pm

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on trailers but must be open to work on trucks, while utilizing personal safety equipment as required.
• Move trucks and trailers in and out of shop for maintenance
• Open repair orders and charge the appropriate parts to the repair order
• Perform tire inspections/appropriate paperwork to company standards
• Performs shop clean-up and housekeeping responsibilities as well as other miscellaneous related duties as assigned.
• Inspects and maintains basic vehicle/accessorial worthiness including proper fuel levels and tire air pressure, fluid levels, brakes, lights, and safety equipment and submits reports indicating condition of equipment.
• Comprehend and perform Driver Vehicle Inspection Repair (DVIR) process
• Diagnose and repair: Tire/wheel, Brakes & Air Systems, Clutch & Linkage, Mud flaps/hangers
