Job summary

Weldship Group in the United States is seeking a Trailer Mechanic responsible for the creation and refurbishment of vehicle chassis and tube mounting assemblies, including welding, brazing, torch cutting, drilling, and related fabrication tasks.

The role requires safe operation, teamwork, and the ability to install tires, bearings, seals, suspension, air brake and electrical systems. Hours are 6:00am to 2:30pm, Monday through Friday.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Welding is not required but willing to learn.
• Ability to read and follow safety and maintenance procedures.

Responsibilities

• Create or repair the chassis/tube mounting vehicle as directed.
• Follow safety guidelines while performing the task.
• Maintain low or nonexistent inventories of parts.
• Follow established maintenance procedures for equipment being used.
• Communicate with fellow workers to ensure smooth workflow.
• Return company tools to their designated location and maintain good housekeeping habits.
• Ability to install tires, bearings, and seals, suspension, air brake systems, and electrical systems.
• Fitting, fabrication work, plumbing skills, mechanical skills; welding is not required but willing to learn.
• Notify the supervisor of all deviations as incurred.
• Work in other areas of the facility at the direction of the area supervisor efficiently and effectively while maintaining good teambuilding skills.
• Additional duties as assigned by supervisor.
