Job summary

The Biltmore Company is seeking an Equestrian Trail Guide I to join the team as a flex, part-time position in Asheville. You will help manage daily trail rides, care for trail horses, and ensure guest safety and satisfaction.

Hours typically 7:45am–6:15pm Friday through Monday with a requirement for weekend availability; HS diploma or GED and equestrian experience preferred. CPR/First Aid certifications are a plus, and a valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Related equestrian education or certifications preferred.
  • First Aid, AED and CPR certification preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required.

Responsibilities

  • Select and lead trail rides for guests according to the daily schedule.
  • Care for horses, including feeding and daily health checks.
  • Inspect trail for hazards and report to the Director of Outdoor Programs as needed.
  • Help maintain tack, saddles, and barn area; assist with cleanliness and safety.
  • Provide excellent guest service and clear communication with guests and staff.
  • Assist with safety procedures and emergency readiness on the trail.
  • Support the Carriage Program staff to keep guest areas clean and inviting.
  • Complete incident reports as required and coordinate with Human Resources.
