AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Traffic/Transportation Civil Engineering Intern for Summer 2027 in Raleigh, NC. You will work with traffic engineers to collect and analyze data for reports and presentations to the North Carolina Department of Transportation.

This internship offers hands-on data collection, data-driven reporting, and exposure to real-world projects, with mentoring from professionals and a competitive hourly wage of $25–$31.

Qualifications

• EXPERIENCE: No experience required if accepted into an Associate's or Bachelor's degree program in a related technical field.
• EDUCATION: Must have completed 60 hours towards a civil engineering degree from an ABET accredited program by the start of the internship (Summer 2027).
• SPECIAL SKILLS: Basic computer skills required to enter data into spreadsheets or databases.

Responsibilities

• Work alongside traffic engineers to compile and analyze data for reports and presentations to North Carolina Department of Transportation staff.
• Perform field data collection of traffic data.
• Assist with drafting technical reports and presentations based on data analysis to allow the North Carolina Department of Transportation to make data-driven decisions.
• Assist with writing code, scripts, or algorithms to analyze raw data for reports and graphics.
